CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Whether you’re new to TUMC or have been here for a long time, there is a place for you and your children! On Sunday mornings, children are welcome in worship and can enjoy a special message during the 11:00AM worship service. Sunday School is at 9:30AM on Sunday mornings for children of all ages. Once a month, TUMC’s “Fun Fridays” give parents a night out while kids enjoy time with their friends. Check out the “Children’s Events” page for a list of all other activities and events for children at TUMC.
Children’s Sunday School & Nursery
Children’s Sunday School is open to children of visitors as well as members. Families can check in at any of the kiosks on the TUMC campus, then take their children to their classroom for Sunday School. After checking children in, they can be dropped off at room 222 in the Education Building at 9:30 for music and special activities. At 10:00, Sunday School teachers escort children to their classrooms, where they can be picked up by 10:45. We ask that you please stay on the church campus while your children are in Sunday School or childcare.
All Sunday School staff and volunteers are Safe Gatherings trained to provide a loving and safe environment for young ones to enjoy fellowship with their peers. Learn more about safety training in the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church here.

Nursery Care
Nursery care is available for infants to age 2 each Sunday morning. Greeters at the check-in stations can direct you to the nursery center.
Children’s Classes:
Pre-K (ages 3 and 4) through Kindergarten
1st and 2nd grade
3rd through 5th grade
Extended Care
Extended care is available for children children in pre-k (3s and 4s) through Kindergarten after Time for Children at the 11:00AM worship service. Nursery staff will meet them at the doors of the sanctuary and escort them to room 214. Parents pick up their pre-schoolers in room 214.
Weekly on Sunday afternoons
All 4th and 5th graders and their friends are invited to join us on Sunday afternoons for learning, fun, and worship. We will meet at 4PM every Sunday in the Annex building, room 712. Register at the link below.

Drop your children off for an evening of dinner and fun with their TUMC friends while you enjoy a Friday night out! Children age 3 (potty trained) through 5th grade are welcome.
Cost: $40 for the first child | $50 for 2 | $60 for 3+
Reservations open two weeks before the upcoming Fun Friday and close the Wednesday before.
Mini Movers is a baby and caregiver movement class led by Lisa Denis, PT, DPT, PCS that happens every Monday morning. No registration or contracts are required, and this class is open to all in the community. Please invite your friends and spread the word!
Baptism
If you’re interested in baptism for your child, please fill out this form and Stephanie will follow up to answer any questions and confirm the details.
This year for VBS, incoming preschoolers through 5th graders will take a cruise through the jungle and explore different stories from the Bible. Incoming 6th graders will join Scott Hinderliter for Surviving and Thriving in Middle School, a faith-based program designed to prepare students for Middle School.
Pre-registration for VBS opens on April 7th, and volunteers may sign up by emailing Stephanie Edgar.
