Oktoberfest brings together our clients, volunteers, supporters, and friends who know how important it is to enable older adults to live independently, avoid social isolation, and age in place by providing free, volunteer-based transportation and other services. Research shows that social isolation and loneiness have a serious impact on older people's longevity, their physical and mental health, and their quality of life. Together, we address these issues with friendly calls, social outings and field trips giving our senior friends more opportunities to create lasting friendships and feel a sense of belonging in their community.
